Iran and Norway signed a €2 billion contract on solar energy producing

Almaty. October 19. Silkroadnews – Iran and Norway have signed a €2 billion contract on solar energy producing, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports with reference to the Islamic Republic News Agency.
“Iranian and Norwegian firms sealed a € 2-billion contract to produce two gigawatts of solar energy,” the report said.
It is noted that the contract was signed by the managing director of Norway’s Saga John Eric and the managing director of Energy Amin Company Majid Shahrestani in the presence of the Norwegian envoy to Iran Lars Nordrum.
According to the contract, the Norwegian side will invest €2 billion to launch and produce solar power units in Iran. The project is planned to be implemented in three provinces with areas that are the most exposed to sunlight.
180 mW of solar energy will be produced at the first stage of the project implemented in the provinces of Razavi Khorasan, Kerman and Yazd, the agency reports.
In addition to the transfer of technical knowledge, the Norwegian company will also build a plant to manufacture the equipment planned for the project in Iran.
