Iran and Russia will exchange Iranian enriched uranium on fossil fuels from Russia

Almaty. October 21. Silkroadnews - Iran and Russia are in the final stage of the development of agreement for the sale of enriched uranium and its export to the Russian Federation in accordance with its obligations under the nuclear agreement between Iran and the "six" of international mediators, Russian media reported.
"In accordance with their obligations under the joint comprehensive action plan, Iran will sell its enriched uranium to Russia. The Iranian delegation held talks in Moscow. And we are in the final stage of an agreement with Russia on the issue of exchange of enriched uranium for natural uranium to be supplied from this country", - said the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi in the nuclear center at Natanz.
"We have about 9 tons of enriched uranium, and we decided to sell it. In accordance with our obligations under JCAP, we have the right to sell enriched uranium on world markets", - added A.Salehi.
With regard to the reconstruction of a heavy water reactor in Arak, A.Salehi noted that in this respect there is still a certain stage of development and signing of documents between Iran and the "six", as well as between Iran, China and the United States, who will carry out cooperation for reprofiling of the object. After the reconstruction, according to JCAP, the heavy water reactor at Arak would not be able to turn out weapons-grade plutonium. It will be used for peaceful scientific purposes, including for the production of radioisotopes. Remains of heavy water should be sold by Iran in the international market, the new power for its achievements will not be created in the country.
