Iran and Syria signed an agreement on bilateral economic cooperation

Almaty. March 17. Silkroadnews - Iran and Syria signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation in energy, industry and agriculture, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Tuesday.
The signing ceremony was held after the talks in Damascus between the leaders of Syria and Iran delegation led by the Minister of Finance Ali Tayebniya.
Also at the meeting were discussed possible ways and mechanisms to increase investment, strengthen the role of the private sector and cooperation in the field of health care, including medical supplies from severe chronic diseases and cancer.
As stated at the final press briefing Ali Tayebniya, signing of the agreement indicates a new stage of bilateral partnership. Syria is preparing for large-scale restoration work, and Iran can take part in the reconstruction process in many areas in the interests of the peoples of both countries, he added.
In turn, Minister of Finance of Syria Ismail Ismail said that this agreement is a reflection of the deep relations between the two countries, assuring that Iran will play an important role in the reconstruction of Syria.
The sides also discussed the possibility of expanding trade cooperation between the two countries by enhancing the previously signed agreements and signing new ones.
