Iran, China, Pakistan and Russian intelligence chiefs discussed threat of ISIS presence in Afghanistan

Beijing. Jul 11. Silkroadnews - The heads of the intelligence agencies of Iran, China, Pakistan and Russia discussed joint measures against the threat of the infiltration of the international terrorist organization “Islamic State” militants into Afghanistan, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
According to the head of the press office of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia Sergei Ivanov, this issue was discussed during a working meeting of the heads of intelligence services of four countries in Islamabad. The director of Russia’s foreign intelligence SVR Sergey Naryshkin represented Russia.
“The conference reached understanding of the importance of coordinated steps to prevent the trickling of ISIS terrorists from Syria and Iraq to Afghanistan from where they would pose risks for neighboring countries,” he said.
