Iran could allow Russia to use air base Hamadan “if necessary”

Almaty. December 28. Silkroadnews – There are no negotiations between Moscow and Tehran to resume fights of the Russian air forces from Hamadan air base held at present, Trend writes.

Iran’s defense minister Hussein Dehghan confirmed this information.

In his words, “it is absolutely wrong” to assume that Iran placed its air base in service by Russia.

“It is absolutely not true, as it is incompatible with our constitution. Yet, as we cooperate with Russia in fight against terrorism, we gave it some preferences for combat planes’ takeoffs and landings. At any time, when we feel the situation requires it and Russia requests for these preferences again, we will consider the situation given the current circumstances and make a decision. We did not sign any agreement with Russia allowing them using our bases at any time”, the minister explained.

He added that depending on the circumstances and “with due request from Russia”, Iran could also reject Moscow, Iran could refuse to help Moscow.
