Iran declares its readiness to facilitate the transit of gas to the EU

Almaty. February 2. Silkroadnews - Iran declares its readiness to facilitate the transit of natural gas from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to the EU, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Monday.
"We propose to pump gas from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to Iran, and then to export it from here to Europe via Turkey. This is the most efficient and cost-effective method of delivering gas to Europe",- said the director of International Cooperation of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Azizulla Ramazani.
According to him, today the transportation of gas through Iran seems the most advantageous option for the EU.
However, he questioned the feasibility of plans to build a gas pipeline under the Caspian Sea to deliver natural gas from Central Asia to Europe.
However A.Ramazani pointed to the existing capacity of the regional countries to meet the needs of the EU's energy resources.
