Iran discusses with Russia on heavy water 40 tonnes sales

Almaty. July 20. Silkroadnews – Iran may sell to Russia 40 tonnes of heavy water, IrTAG reports with reference to the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

“We are currently in negotiations with Russia on the sale of 40 tonnes of heavy water, there are also other buyers ready to purchase it from us”, he said after a meeting of the Joint Commission for the fulfilment of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

At the same time the Iranian diplomat noted that “the consultations continue”. “I do not know when (the agreement will be reached), these are commercial negotiations, they continue”, he said.

A. Araghchi also reminded, recently Tehran has closed a deal on the sale of 32 tonnes of heavy water to the U.S. “The deal has been finalized, the money has already been transferred to the accounts of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization”, he confirmed.
