Iran has discovered new deposits of uranium

Almaty. September 15. Silkroadnews - Iran has discovered new open uranium deposits, informed the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Tuesday.
"I can not say anything precise about the volumes of uranium reserves in the country, but emphasize that our expectations were not high. Fortunately, the results of recent exploration inspire confidence about our reserves", - said the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOIRI), Vice-President Ali Akbar Salehi.
According to him, in recent years, Iranian experts have managed to achieve great results in the exploration of new deposits of raw uranium in the country. At the same time, he noted that to date, exploration of uranium deposits has been carried out on 63% of the territory of Iran. It is expected that this work should be completed in the next 4 years.
A.Salehi added that Iran had already begun to extract uranium from the field "Sagand" in the central province of Yazd, and that the country is ready to proceed the development of uranium deposits near the town of Ardakan in the near future.
