Almaty. May 18. Silkroadnews – This May Iran plans to increase oil exports to 2.1 million barrels a day, which is 60% higher compared to 2015, IrTAG reports.

As known, the oil exports have grown significantly after the western sanctions removal and reached its top level in April as recorded since January 2012. Among other things it is also explained by solving the issue of oil tankers shortage the country faced after January removal of sanctions.

For May Tehran planned to provide the Asian markets with 1.6 million barrels a day. China remains the major buyer of Iran (840 thousand barrels a day in April) with planned purchase of 620 thousand barrels a day in May.

A significant increase in oil exports to the European countries is observed as well. According to Reuters, in April Tehran delivered to Europe 487 thousand barrels a day, for May these deliveries are scheduled at the level of 400 thousand barrels a day. In particular, it is planned to supply 32 thousand barrels a day to Spain, 65 thousand barrels a day to Greece.
