Iran is ready to establish with neighboring countries on the organization of safety of nuclear facilities

Almaty. February 2. Silkroadnews - Iran has expressed readiness to establish with neighboring states regional organization for the safety of nuclear facilities, reported Russian media.
"This regional association will be called upon to supervise the activities of nuclear power plants in Iran and other countries of the Middle East and Persian Gulf and prevent the possible devastating effects of radiation on the environment", - says the publication.
As noted, Vice President of Iran, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi put forward proposal in connection with the plans of a number of neighboring countries on the construction of nuclear power plants on its territory. Thus, the United Arab Emirates plan to build four nuclear power plants.
Ali Salehi also expressed readiness to "jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Agency for Environmental Protection Iran to negotiate with neighboring countries on issues related to radiation safety".
"The Iranian side is also interested in communicating with their neighbors on environmental issues in order to be able to take urgent measures to reduce the possible damage from radiation", - said A. Salehi.
