Almaty. August 13. Silkroadnews - Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to supply gas to Europe through the pipeline "Nabucco", the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Wednesday.
As recently said Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Ali Majidi, given the fact that Europe is seeking to diversify its sources of energy, Iran can meet the needs of the continent's gas supply by means of a pipeline "Nabucco".
After loosening of unilateral sanctions against Iran and Tehran's European partners need to find ways to solve the problem.
Export of Iranian gas, according to the deputy minister, can pass through Turkey, Iraq, Syria, the Caucasus region, as well as the Black Sea. However, he noted, the delivery through Turkey appear to be most optimal.
According to Majidi, without Iranian gas project "Nabucco" is meaningless. EU imposing sanctions against Iran, punishing itself, said the deputy minister. According to him, the Iranian gas is the only viable alternative for Europe.
The project of gas pipeline "Nabucco" provided energy supplies from Central Asia and Azerbaijan to the EU, by passing Russia.
Originally the project scheduled to begin construction in 2011 and complete in 2014, but its implementation was postponed several times and is still in question because of problems with potential gas suppliers.
