Iran is ready to supply Qatar with food products against the backdrop of supplies stopped from the Persian Gulf countries
Almaty. June 6. Silkroadnews – Iran is ready to supply to Qatar all kinds of food products on the background of termination of supplies from the Persian Gulf countries, the head of the Iranian Association for the import of agricultural products Reza Nurani said, Russian media report.
“We are ready to export all kinds of food products to Qatar in view of the sanctions imposed by the Persian Gulf countries”, R. Nurani said.
On Monday Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt announced a break in diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing Doha of supporting terrorist organizations and destabilizing the situation in the Middle East. The authorities of eastern Libya, Yemen, as well as the Maldives also announced the severance of relations with Qatar.
Previously, Reuters reported that the UAE and Saudi Arabia stopped exporting sugar to Qatar. According to the agency, Qatar strongly depends on sugar from these countries, just a little less than 100 thousand tonnes are imported to the country every year.
According to Al Jazeera TV channel, heavy trucks, which cannot enter Qatar territory, are gathered in the area of the Saudi-Qatar border.
Some states also reported on the adoption of other measures, such as the cessation of sea and air communications with Qatar, the expulsion of diplomats and subjects. In turn, the authorities of Qatar called the decisions of foreign partners unreasonable.
