Iran plans to increase the transportation of gas to 1 billion cubic meters per day
Almaty. February 16. Silkroadnews - In the next three years Iran intends to increase the volume of natural gas pumped for domestic distribution networks up to 1 billion cubic meters per day, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Monday.
According to the Director of Planning of the National Gas Company of Iran Hassan Muntazer Turbati, early next year (from March 21, 2015) Iran will be launch the construction of three large gas pipelines of national significance, which will increase the flow of natural gas in the country to 300 million cubic meters per day.
"After completion of the gas pipeline projects in the next three months, the daily pumping capacity of Iran's gas will reach 1 billion cubic meters", - said Turbati.
According to him, the implementation of these projects, along with the development of new phases in the largest field "South Pars" in the Persian Gulf, will significantly increase the volume of natural gas production in Iran.
According to experts, proven natural gas reserves of Iran is more than 35 trillion cubic meters, which puts the country in second place in the world after Russia.
