Iran plans to raise trade turnover with Turkmenistan up to $1 billion

Almaty. June 22. Silkroadnews – Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization Valiollah Afkhamirad said the export of Iranian goods to Turkmenistan may reach $1 billion, Iranian media reported.

According to V. Afkhamirad the senior officials of Iran and Turkmenistan take whatever actions are appropriate to develop trade and increase exports.

“Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization also take part in various exhibitions to expand the country’s presence in target markets,” he added, having noted that “those businessmen who want to develop trade with the CIS countries should start cooperation with Turkmenistan”.

The official said Iran has the highest export rate in Turkmenistan and the highest rates of the country’s economic growth for the recent years. In their turn, the Turkmen authorities make every effort to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

V. Afkhamirad also added that gas barter between Iran and Turkmenistan contributed to boosting the Iranian export into this country.
