Iran plans to reduce imports of wheat to 3 million tonnes per year

Almaty. January 16. Silkroadnews - Iranian authorities intend to reduce the volume of imports of wheat to 3 million tonnes per year, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
As stated by the Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad of Iran Abbas Keshovarz, a reduction in imports of wheat is due to the increase of domestic production, as well as create the country's strategic reserves of the crops.
However, the deputy minister said that in Iran today harvested about 1 million tons of fertilizers and pesticides, which should also contribute to the success of the forthcoming spring sowing campaign.
