Astana. March 2. Silkroadnews - Navy forced of Iran are interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan in the field of production of military equipment, reported the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
A delegation of the Islamic Republic led by the commander of the strategic naval forces of the Iran Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari is having an official visit in Astana. The Iranian delegation met with representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the command of the Navy Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
"Kazakhstan and Iran are neighbors across the Caspian Sea. Therefore, our cooperation is very important. In addition to provide security in the region, we are interested in cooperation in various fields of maritime affairs. In particular, training and exchange of students, trainees and teachers, manufacture and repair of military equipment, joint workshops and much more", - quoted the press service the Iranian Rear Admiral in a statement released on Monday.
In turn, the commander chief of the naval forces of the Armed Forces, Rear Admiral of RK Zhandarbek Zhanzakov noted that the current visit of the Iranian delegation - is another step towards strengthening cooperation between the two countries Navy.
The visit of the Iranian delegation will continue until March 6. During this time, defense officials of Iran will visit JSC "Kazakhstan Engineering", read a lecture at the National Defense University named after the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as visit the Navy rocket-artillery ships of RK and the training center.
