Beijing. May 2. Silkroadnews - Iran exported 2.62 million barrels per day in April, which was a new record since the beginning of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action implementation, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
According to Shana agency, this April the National Iranian Oil Company exported 2.88 million barrels of oil and gas condensate to the European and Asian markets. 60% of Iranian oil products were sold to China, India, South Korea and Japan. China and India imported about 1.4 million barrels per day alone.
Such increase in exports is due to the statements by the US President Donald Trump about the possible withdrawal from the deal, TASS notes.
The JCPOA provides for the lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran by the UN Security Council, the United States and the European Union, and entered the implementation phase in January 2016. In return, Tehran pledged to restrict and put under international control its nuclear activities.
On January 12, Trump said the United States would leave the deal unless it is changed with account of the amendments elaborated in the course of talks with European countries.
