He noted that according to assessments carried out shortly after the 1979 Islamic revolution, it was believed that Iran's oil reserves will be enough for only 20 years, but as a result of intensive exploration work in the country were found significant new deposits of "black gold".
According to the deputy director, the majority of such work are carried out in the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea and the Zagros mountain range.
According to official data, the authorities intend to increase oil production to 4 million barrels per day by the end of the current Iranian year, ie until March 21, 2015.
