Iran sees 4-fold increase in import of Kazakh grain between this January and April
Astana. June 2. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan increased its export of wheat and wheat-rye mix to Iran to 400 300 tonnes (USD 106.1 mln) between January and April 2014. This signifies 400.9% increase in quantity and 323.1% increase in receivables compared to the subsequent 2013 period. This was reported by the Customs Control Committee of Kazakh Ministry of Finance.
The main importers of Kazakh grain for this period are:
Azerbaijan – 246 600 tonnes (-9.1%);
Uzbekistan – 234 000 tonnes (+39.5%);
Tajikistan – 211 500 tonnes (+23.8%);
China – 143 100 tonnes (30- fold increase in quantity);
Kyrgyzstan – 116 900 tonnes (+47.3%);
Germany – 55 300 tonnes (did not import grain from Kazakhstan in the subsequent 2013 period);
Sudan 54 600 tonnes (did not import grain from Kazakhstan in the subsequent 2013 period);
Turkey 47 100 tonnes (-6.4%)
