Iran, the first time since the Islamic Revolution, appointed a woman Ambassador
Almaty. October 29. Silkroadnews - A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Marzieh Afham is appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic in Malaysia, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
This is the first appointment of woman as the Ambassador of Iran since the 1979 Islamic revolution.
M.Afham plans to begin her mission in Kuala Lumpur in the coming weeks.
53-year-old diplomat Marzieh Afham was appointed the official representative of the Foreign Ministry in August 2013, which was also a precedent in the Islamic Republic.
Previously, she spent eight years as the general director of Department of the Foreign Ministry's Press and Information.
