Almaty. June 15. Silkroadnews – Iran has reached an agreement with the American Boeing for the purchase of new aircraft, IrTAG informs.

“The agreement has been reached with Boeing. Details will be announced within next few days,” Abbas Ahmad Akhoundi, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development, said.

He also noted, at the last stage of negotiations “Iran has managed to save at least $5 million”.

“Meetings and negotiations are ongoing, I hope we can reach an understanding,” he said.

It became known the transaction requires the approval by the U.S. authorities and suggests both direct purchase and leasing of aircraft.

The company’s officials do not give any comments on the agreement details.

According to the company’s press secretary, Boeing negotiated with Iran on the potential procurement of Boeing commercial jetliners.

To remind, a major agreement with Airbus to the amount of $27 billion to supply 118 aircraft to Iran was signed this January during the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Paris. Recently Iran also had negotiations with other aircraft manufacturers.
