Almaty. November 21. Silkroadnews - Iran will expand its cooperation with Algeria in oil and gas industry, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports referring to the Islamic Republic News Agency.
“Iran’s Ambassador to Algeria Reza Ameri and Algerian Energy Minister Mustafa Guitouni explored avenues for promoting oil cooperation between the two countries. Iran’s envoy hailed growing trend of bilateral relations in different fields such as constructive collaboration in OPEC, expressing Iran’s readiness for bolstering oil cooperation in oil sector including implementation of joint investment projects,” the report said.
“Given Algeria’s heavy dependence on oil revenues, we are ready for sharing our valuable experience with Algeria in cutting dependence on oil,” agency quoted Ameri saying.
Stressing the capabilities of Iranian companies in the construction of oil refineries and power stations, repair and maintenance of oil facilities, Ameri said the first Joint Energy Meeting is an important step in developing a framework for cooperation. He also invited Guitouni to visit Tehran in the future.
In his turn, Algeria’s Energy Minister said his country also attaches greater importance to reducing dependence on oil and plans to take steps in this direction.
“We are aware of Iranian technical engineering firms’ capabilities and are interested to joint invest with them,” he said.
