Iran to resolve disputes in economic relations with Turkmenistan

Beijing. May 22. Silkroadnews - The issues of the economic ties between Iran and Turkmenistan were on the agenda at the meeting of the Iranian National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on Monday, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
The spokesman for the commission Naghavi Hosseini said the session held yesterday in the parliament commission has been aimed at finding solutions to current problems hampering the economic relations between Iran and Turkmenistan.
In particular, Hosseini noted, the issues discussed included the dispute over gas supplies and energy deals between the two states, in both private and public sectors.
Turkmenistan has certain complaints about gas swaps and energy deals with Iran, which the Iranian government must resolve, the spokesman noted, adding that energy officials refer to banking issues as a key obstacle in cooperation with Turkmenistan.
According to Iran's deputy oil minister for international affairs and trading Hossein Zamaninia, Iran and Turkmenistan are working on a dispute over gas prices with more than a year suspension of gas deliveries between the two countries.
