Iran will increase gold production to 10 tons per year

Almaty. August 6. Silkroadnews - The studies in Iran have identified 1200 areas for the development of gold, reports Trend.
"Proven and probable gold reserves across the country reached 340 tons, and it is expected that after completion of the extraction of gold exploration projects in Iran will reach 10 tons per year", - said Deputy Director of the Geology and Mineral Exploration of Iran Behrouz Borna.
According to him, Iran has produced three tons of gold per year.
According to statistics, in Iran there are 24 gold mines, of which the active extraction is conducted only at 15 deposits.
Eight mines are not being developed, as the international price of gold fell to $1,100 an ounce, he said Borna.
