Almaty. May 4. Silkroadnews - Iran will not allow the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect non-nuclear military facilities, reported Trend with reference to the chief of the general staff of the armed forces of Iran, Major General Hassan Firuzabadi in a letter to the Iranian delegation at the talks with the "six" on Iran's nuclear program.
He also recalled the boundaries beyond which a team of negotiators must not retreat at the conclusion of the nuclear deal.
While commending the actions of the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and other members of the delegation, H.Firuzabadi simultaneously warned them from "falling into the trap probable" in matters relating to the access of IAEA experts on defense sites unrelated to the nuclear activities of Iran.
According H.Firuzabadi, Iran can not trust Washington on security issues and should be protected by the terms of the definitive agreement, which would allow Iran to immediately abandon their commitments to limit its nuclear program if the other party will refrain from carrying out their part of the deal.
He also warned that, in his opinion, under the terms of the future agreement, the IAEA can not be empowered to "visit sensitive areas and centers of Iran" only "on the basis of suspicion and political provocations".
He added that the IAEA should be allowed to check and control nuclear activities and centers of Iran, going beyond the rules and regulations specified in the Agency's Statute and in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
