Iranian businessmen believe Kazakhstan and Iran need to cancel the visa regime

Almaty. February 9. Silkroadnews - The co-chairman of the Kazakhstani-Iranian Business Council Amir Abedi called to cancel the visa regime between Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“It is important to resolve the issue of banking interactions. Without this, it is impossible to develop trade and investment cooperation. In addition, Kazakhstan and Iran need to cancel the visa regime. At the moment Iran applies visa provision at the airports with 190 countries,” - the press-service of JSC “National Holding “Baiterek”” quoted by A.Abedi as saying in a statement on Tuesday released for the first meeting of the Kazakhstani-Iranian Business Council in Tehran.
It is reported that in Tehran the chairman of the board of “Baiterek” holding Kuandik Bishimbayev, appointed as co-chairman of the Kazakhstani-Iranian Business Council, and Amir Abedi, co-chair of the Iranian side, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
According to K. Bishimbayev, the lifting of sanctions from Iran and the upcoming effective work of the Kazakhstani-Iranian Business Council, let us hope that this year will bring the activation of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
“The Business Council will contribute to the strengthening of Iran and Kazakhstan trade and scientific and technical interaction,” – he said.
According to the head of the holding, today Kazakhstan is the leader among the CIS countries in terms of direct foreign investment attraction.
“Over the past 10 years, the state has attracted direct investment worth more than 215 billion US dollars. This trend shows the attractive conditions for foreign capital created according to the directions by the Head of the State,” - said K. Bishimbayev.
In his turn, A. Abedi said Iran’s banking system is open to build the relations with the Kazakhstani banks as appropriate.
“The financial system, first of all, serves the trade. At present, we have information that Iran’s 9 banks are connected to the international SWIFT payment system. Our delegation includes representatives of the Kazakhstani banks interested to establish relationships with the Iranian financial institutions,” - said K. Bishimbayev.
