Iranian Oil Minister and OPEC Secretary General discussed a possible oil output freeze
Almaty. September 7. Silkroadnews – Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh and OPEC secretary general Mohammed Barkindo discussed global oil market conditions and crude prices in Tehran, IrTAG writes.
The sides discussed the recent situation in the oil market, possible oil output freeze and details of oil agreement between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
According to the Iranian representative, Tehran supports all the measures aimed at crude market stabilization. OPEC Secretary General shared with B. Zanganeh his plan on the organization management.
The Iranian minister noted his country supports crude price of $55 per barrel as quite satisfactory for both OPEC and Iran.
«This price allows OPEC oil production to be commercially viable and cost-efficient effective while restraining the competitors from raising their production levels», B. Zanganeh said, adding the most of the organization's members are interested in the oil price within the range of $50-$60 per barrel.
Earlier on Monday the Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia agreed on joint work or cooperation with other oil-producing countries activities to secure the crude market stability and sustainable level of the long term investments.
