Almaty. December 11. Silkroadnews - President of Iran presented the draft budget to the parliament, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reported with reference to Tasnim News Agency.
“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani submitted the draft budget for the next Iranian fiscal year to the country’s parliament. The project provides for reduction of monthly subsidies to population and allocates funds for subsidizing health care and reducing poverty,” the report said.
According to the president, the draft budget took into account the major issues voters rose in the course of presidential elections in May, specifically, creation of jobs, economic progress, reduction of poverty and boosting the private sector development.
Rouhani also commented on the recent changes in the region, condemning the controversial decision of the U.S. president to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
According to the internal regulations of the Iranian parliament, the administration should submit an annual draft budget by December 5.
“It is submitted by the president to the legislature for review and approval. Once the parliamentarians endorse the government’s proposed budget bill, it will go to the Guardian Council, the constitutional supervisory body, for ratification before becoming law,” the release reads.
