Almaty. November 23. Silkroadnews - Japan has allocated a grant of $1 million for a project to reduce water losses in Iran, reported Iranian media.
As noted, the project will be implemented in the city of Kanshar, Iranian province of Isfahan. According to experts, the loss of water in this city make up 60% of the water supply. This project will reduce water losses to 15-17%.
Iran is facing an acute shortage of water after a long period of drought. The water losses in average amounts to 26%, 14% of which are associated with losses due to outdated pipeline system.
As noted, Japan has a lot of experience in water management. The indicator of water loss in the country at the end of World War II was about 80%, whereas now only 4%.
