Kabul to switch to energy efficient lighting of streets and state institutions

Beijing. March 30. Silkroadnews - Yesterday the Afghan Ministry of Energy and Water, as represented by the minister Ali Ahmad Osmani, and one of the Dutch companies signed a contract to equip Kabul streets and institutions with energy efficient lighting, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
The project in case provides for the replacement of more than 273 thousand lamps with LEDs in the Afghan capital, aimed to reduce energy consumption in the capital by about 70%.
The lighting system replacement is expected to cost $4.8 million. The work is planned to start in the next three months and be completed within six months after beginning.
