Kazakh Energy Ministry has no claims to the developers of the Karachaganak field
Almaty. November 13. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan has no claims to the developers of the Karachaganak field - British BG Group and Italy's Eni SpA, KazTAG reports citing Minister of Energy Vladimir Shkolnik.
However, he refused to answer any other matters by offering to write queries to the Ministry.
Earlier, Bloomberg referring to informed sources, announced that the government of Kazakhstan intends to fine the developer of Karachaganak - British BG Group and Italian Eni SpA - almost by $2 billion for non-fulfillment of contract terms.
Karachaganak is one of the largest and most complex in terms of the exploitation oil and gas fields in Kazakhstan. The deposit area is 280 square km, and its reserves are estimated at more than 1.2 billion tons of oil and condensate and over 1.35 trillion cubic meters of gas.
Developer of field is Karachaganak Petroleum Operating BV. The company is a joint venture of BG Group (29,25%), Eni (29,25%), Chevron (18%), OAO "LUKOIL" (13.5%) and JSC "NC" KazMunayGas "(10%).
