Kazakhstan bans import of some products from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia

Astana. April 11. Silkroadnews –Kazakhstan banned import of cheeses produced by 5 Ukranian companies, as the republican consumer rights protection agency reports.
“In accordance with the Customs Union stipulations on sanitary measures an d Kazakhstan’s law on “Protection of Consumer Rights”, the country’s Chief Sanitary Doctor,  Zhandarbek Bekshin, has signed a ban on import of Ukranian cheese produced by 5 companies. The main reason for this ban is lack balance between the shares of carbonates, fats and moisture in the product. This is a violation of standards stipulated by laws on consumer rights”, the message states.
The agency that reminds that it has already banned import of meat and poultry from Belarus and Russia because its moisture level was 1.5-3 times above the set norms. 3 Russian producers forgot to add Kazakh text on the labels. As for the poultry produce from Belarus, it contained a trace of  salmonella, as the agency explains.
