Almaty. April 7. Silkroadnews - Energy ministry of Kazakhstan has received an invitation to take part in the April meeting of the OPEC countries, KazTAG reports.

“It has been reported earlier that many mining companies had reduced their drilling operations and oil production in Kazakhstan due to the tough economic situation. Thus, the republic experiences an objective decline in oil production to compare to the previous years due to the market factors impact,” ministry’s written reply said on Thursday on the request by KazTAG.

In addition, the invitation has been received, yet the issue of participation has not been decided so far.
The ministry also reminded that oil production plan for 2016 in Kazakhstan stands at 74 million tons, which makes 93.2% compared to 2015.

Earlier it was reported that the meeting of the largest oil exporters will be held in Doha on April 17, 2016. The meeting agenda includes discussion of an agreement on oil production freezing at the level of January 2016.
