Almaty. January 10. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstani officials explained the procedure for transit of 105 positions of Kyrgyz goods through Kazakhstan to Russia subject to veterinary-sanitary control, KazTAG reports.

As the NCE deputy chairman Dana Zhunusova explained, due to differences between the Kyrgyz veterinary safety requirements and the appropriate regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union revealed in the course of inspections carried through 2015-2016 with participation of representatives of the states-members of the union and EEC, the abolition of veterinary control procedures on the Kazakhstani-Kyrgyz border creates risks unacceptable for agriculture of Kazakhstan.

“In accordance with the decision offered by the Kazakhstani side, we propose to organize transit of the Kyrgyz products subject to veterinary-sanitary control as defined in the decision №317 of the Commission of the Customs Union (dated June 18, 2010), with the exception of live animals, through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation by rail. As of today the consolidated list of products under control includes 112 positions (on fours signs of the ICN), of them at present the Kyrgyz side delivers three product categories (final milk, fish and meat products) to the southern regions of Kazakhstan and in transit to Russia. Excluding live farm animals, it means that today we increase the list of the Kyrgyz goods subject to veterinary and sanitary control allowed for transit to 105 positions”, Vice-Minister of Agriculture Gulmira Issayeva has noted.

In his turn deputy chairman of the committee of veterinary control and supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Olzhas Ausbaev said, Kazakhstan developed a procedure for transit of such goods by rail.

“The route for the railway transport has been determined with entering the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan (at Lugovoye) and entering the territory of the Russian Federation (at Iletsk). Transit will be carried out in sealed wagons. The other traffic routes are under consideration”, he stated.

The KTZ representative Oralkhan Kulakov has informed that starting from January 10 “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” introduces the unified tariffs. “Yes, these are the transit transportation, yet it will be carried out on the unified tariffs. This means a 2.83 times reduction of tariffs on the rail transport from Kyrgyzstan, which is expected to push for the transportation through Kazakhstan. I think all the issues are to be cleared today. Better conditions can hardly be thought up”, he summarized.
