Kazakhstan has kept the 50th place in the ranking of global competitiveness index WEF

Almaty. September 3. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan retained 50th place in the ranking of the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), reported KazTAG citing "The Global Competitiveness Report 2014-2015" World Economic Forum (WEF).
"According to the rating, Kazakhstan again took 50th place with an average score of 4.4, stably holding the results of the previous year. Kazakhstan is in the group of countries with a higher level of development, in which a major role is played by factors in the development of effective and innovative development", - stated in the information released by the press service of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan on Wednesday.
All countries participating in the ranking are distributed to stages of economic development. The criterion for the distribution of countries is an indicator of GDP per capita. However, to determine the stage of development of the countries with high dependence on mineral resources, including Kazakhstan, applied the second criterion, which measures the degree of dependence of the country on the main factors. This criterion is determined by the share of commodity exports in total exports (goods and services) in the past 5 years. Countries in which the share of commodity exports in total exports is 70% or more, refer to the 1st category of development (stage of development factor).
Competitive advantages of Kazakhstan, according to experts of the WEF remain labor market efficiency (15th, 2013 - 15th) and the macroeconomic environment (27th, 2013 - 23rd).
The weakest position Kazakhstan shows in such factors as health and primary education (96, 2013 - 97), the development of the financial market (98, 2013 - 103), the competitiveness of companies (91, 2013 - 94) and innovation (85, 2013 - 84 ).
In remaining six factors estimated by WEF competitiveness of Kazakhstan is average: institutions - 57th place (2013 - 55), the infrastructure - 62th (2013 - 62), higher education and vocational training - 62th (2013 - 54), goods market efficiency - 54th (2013 - 56), technological readiness - 61th (2013 - 57) and the size of the market - 52th (2013 - 54).
