Almaty. June 3. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan has reduced the time spent on customs inspection of goods arriving from the port of Alat by 5-6 times, Trend reports.

According to Gosman Amrin, deputy chairman at the state revenue committee under the ministry of finance of Kazakhstan, earlier the customs clearance of goods at the port of Aktau took up to 10-12 hours, now the process takes an average of about two hours.

“Earlier this year Kazakhstan hosted a meeting between the former Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, during which the parties have agreed to ease the transit conditions. Indeed, we met with our Azerbaijani colleagues, visited the port of Alat, got acquainted with the organization of work in the port. Then we have been assigned to create the same kind of conditions in Aktau. As a result, we have almost reached the Alat port standards,” G. Amrin says.

He adds the changes also became possible due to the preliminary information sharing on the cargo shipped from the port of Alat.

“As a result of joint actions we began to receive information on the cargoes coming, which allows us carrying out preliminary preparations of the documents required prior to the arrival of the goods,” G. Amrin has emphasized.
