Astana. April 12. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan imposed quotas on grapes from Peru, as Kazakh governmental agency on consumer rights inform.
“Upon the reception of a letter of recommendation from Russian Federal service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, Kazakh governmental agency on consumer rights decided to impose quotas on Peruvian grape, as its levels of pesticides are higher than allowed by the laws”, states the message distributed this Monday.
Those Peruvian grapes were exported to Russian Federation, Moldova, Romania, Germany, Belgium and the UK. Kazakhstan did not import those grapes directly from Peru.
However, as there is a high chance of those grapes being re-exported to Kazakhstan, the agency decided to take action.
