Kazakhstan intends to renew the deliveries of grain to Egypt

Almaty. February 29. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan intends to renew the delivery of grain to the Egyptian market, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said after talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Friday.
“Kazakhstan is among the world leaders in grain export, while Egypt is the largest state importing it,” - said Nazarbayev. “Kazakhstan has exported over a million tons of grain to Egypt from 2006 to 2010. This cooperation will further develop,” - KazTAG quotes N. Nazarbayev saying.
In addition, the head of the state noted Kazakhstan will cooperate with Egypt in the field of pharmaceutical production. In particular, the issue is about plans to build the joint plants in Kazakhstan.
“Currently, the Egyptian investors are planning to implement a number of projects. Egyptian businessmen are investing in the development of resorts on the coast of the Caspian Sea and are considering the construction of the poultry farm in the Almaty region. We welcome it,”- the President of Kazakhstan said.
He also added Kazakhstan and Egypt will cooperate in the space field.
Another direction will be the cooperation in the nuclear industry, due to creation in Kazakhstan a nuclear fuel bank and plans of Egypt to build the nuclear power plants.
N. Nazarbayev also said Kazakhstan and Egypt will cooperate in the anti-terrorism sector.
In his turn, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said the parties intend to develop cooperation in trade, agriculture, tourism and education, struggle against terrorism, and also cooperate in the religious area.
The parties agreed to discuss the signing of intergovernmental agreement on the establishment,
operation and activities of the cultural centers in both countries.
Within the framework of the official visit of the President of Egypt the following documents have been signed: a joint statement by the Heads of State on the results of the official visit of the President of Egypt; Egypt’s participant agreement for the international exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana; charter of the Islamic Organization for Food Security.
