Kazakhstan is a major trading partner of Afghanistan – Ghani

Almaty. June 24. Silkroadnews – Within the framework of the SCO summit held in Tashkent President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of Afghanistan, the press service of the head of Kazakhstan reported.

“During the meeting the heads of the states discussed the key issues of bilateral cooperation, including the prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and economic field,” the statement on the Akorda website says.

Two leaders also exchanged views on a number of topical issues of regional and international agenda.

“A number of important agreements has been made following the results of your last visit to Astana. As a part of the agreements reached Kazakhstan began supplies of grain to your country. Also this year Kabul will host a meeting of the intergovernmental commission where the ways of further strengthening the economic cooperation between our countries shall be considered,” said the President of Kazakhstan.

“Kazakhstan is an important trading partner of Afghanistan, and we also look forward to the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission,” the president of Afghanistan said.
