Astana. November, 18. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan is one of the leading donor in volume of humanitarian aid for the region of Central Asia, reports KazTAG citing the press service of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
"According to UN statistics for 2006 - July 2011, Kazakhstan has allocated humanitarian aid to foreign countries at te amount of $53.7 million, the bulk of which was sent to Central Asia. With the figure of $30 million Kazakhstan ranks third in terms of the provision of humanitarian assistance in the region",- said in a statement released by the end of the extended meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting was discussed the draft law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic on mutual provision of land for construction of diplomatic missions" and the draft Law "On Official Development Assistance" and the accompanying bill.
