Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan nominated the Western Tien Shan mountains to be included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List

Almaty. June 27. Silkroadnews – It is planned to include the Western Tien Shan mountains on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, the UN news center informs.

“On July 10-20 Istanbul will host the 40th session of the World Heritage Committee. The participants will examine proposals to inscribe 29 new natural, cultural and mixed sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Among them the mountains of Western Tien Shan,” statement says.

It is noted the Western Tien Shan nomination has been submitted by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The nominations in the natural sites category also includes Mountain Ecosystems of Koytendag (Turkmenistan).
