Astana. February 25. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan in 2015 plans to export 60 million tons of oil, reports KazTAG citing First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Uzakbay Karabalin.
"In 2015, oil production is expected to reach 80.5 million tons, oil refining is projected at 14.3 million tons, the export of oil is expected to reach 60 million tons", - said U Karabalin at a briefing in Astana on Wednesday.
According to him, this year there are negative consequences of a significant reduction in world oil prices. Most of the fields in Kazakhstan are in the late stages of development, and the decline in prices has a negative impact on the economic efficiency of oil production.
"In order to preserve the fields and prevent job cuts, all oil companies have made great efforts to optimize costs, at first - in terms of capital costs. Some of the projects, that do not directly affect the production of oil, are suspended until better times", - said the U Karabalin.
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted "analysis to refine the targets of oil production in the republic in view of the significant decline in world oil prices".
