Kazakhstan ratifies agreement on supply of special cargo for the reconstruction of Afghanistan through the territory of Kazakhstan

Silkroadnews - «President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Law of Kazakhstan" On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to ensure transit cargo / special cargo through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan in connection with the participation of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in international efforts for stabilization and reconstruction of Afghanistan",- said in a statement posted on the official website of Acorda on Friday.
Recall, the agreement defines the procedure for the transit of cargo/ special cargo without special escort personnel of the British side in order to support international efforts to ensure security, stabilization and reconstruction of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
According to the document, the transit cargo is carried out solely in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of a permit issued by the competent authority of the Kazakh side.
The British side during the transit in accordance with this Agreement, required to comply with the legislation of Kazakhstan, and not interfere in the internal affairs of the country.
In this case, the Kazakh side has the right to refuse to issue a permit for transit or terminate the transit permit if it is determined that the transit is not in conformity with this Agreement or poses a threat to the national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The British side takes care of all the costs associated with transit cargo / special cargo through the territory of Kazakhstan on the basis of agreements concluded between the forwarding companies / agencies of the parties, in accordance with the legislation of Kazakhstan.
