Kazakhstan returned around 70 tonnes of persimmon and dried fruits to Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. November 7. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan returned almost 70 tonтуs of persimmon and dried fruits to Kyrgyzstan due to plants quarantine control violations, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reports with reference to KazTAG.
On November 4-5, the state inspectors of the Zhambyl regional department of the State Inspection Committee under ministry of agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan once again found quarantine pests in fruits delivered from the Kyrgyz Republic, specifically, catalpa mealybug in a batch of persimmon with a total weight of 47.9 tonnes, and oriental moth - in a batch of dried fruits weighing 20 tonnes, the report said.
Due to violations of the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in the field of plant quarantine, these quarantine products were returned back to the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
In total, 21 cases of detection of oriental moth and 14 cases of catalpa mealybug have been revealed in quarantine products supplied from Kyrgyzstan.
