Kazakhstan to provide Kyrgyzstan the first tranche of $7.5 million to equip the customs infrastructure

Almaty. December 29. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan will allocate to Kyrgyzstan the first tranche in the amount of $7.5 million for construction and equipping of customs infrastructure and testing laboratories modernization, KyrTAG writes.

Agreement between the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the government of Kazakhstan on economic cooperation within the Eurasian economic integration was signed on December 26 in St. Petersburg along with the protocol on procedure for assistance granting and use monitoring and for financial and technical assistance.  

The agreement and protocol provide for $100 million technical assistance to be rendered by Kazakhstan to finance the activities of the road map on Kyrgyzstan’s entering into the EEU for the improvement and equipping of customs infrastructure and modernization of testing laboratories.

According to the agreement the assistance is to be provided in stages. The first stage assumes $7.5 million to be allocated to Kyrgyzstan.
