Kazakhstani airlines are given the opportunity to fly to Mongolia along the Trans-Siberian route
Almaty. March 7. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstani airlines have been granted the right to perform flights on the Trans-Siberian routes, press service of the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
“Kazakhstan and Russia have established an agreement on performing flights in the airspace of the Russian Federation. Kazakhstani airlines were granted the right to carry out flights using the system of the Trans-Siberian routes, which makes it possible to open new unhampered routes to Ulaanbaatar and Tokyo”, a report published on the site of the ministry said.
The department officials noted the issue has been discussed for a long time.
It was also reported that Kazakhstani carriers were authorized to perform daily flights from Astana and Almaty to Baikonur. The parties consolidated the agreement by exchanging letters.
The aviation authorities of Russia and Kazakhstan were earlier reported not to find a compromise on the issue of flights on the Trans-Siberian routes and the appointment of a second carrier from Russia to Kazakhstan. Kazakhstani airline “Air Astana” expected duty access to the Trans-Siberian route, yet the Russian side did not give such a right.
Later, the Russian side announced to develop a “road map” for liberalization of air communication with Kazakhstan within two months.
