Kyrgyz citizens to be rewarded for reports on corruption crimes

Almaty. November 16. Silkroadnews – In the third reading Jogorku Kenesh approved the law, according to which persons reporting on the corruption crimes will be paid a money reward, KyrTAG writes.

According to the law, the person reporting on corruption-related offences is proposed to be rewarded with amount equal to 30% of the amount of the bribe claimed.

Also the law proposes to not only protect the informant (with due provision of protection and free legal aid, moratorium on the dismissal or prosecution by the senior officials), but his/her relatives as well.

One of the objectives of the project is to encourage people to reveal the corruption offenses, get them actively involved in the processes of anti-corruption and law-abiding behavior formation.
