Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out a large-scale special operation against extremists
Almaty. January 6. Silkroadnews – During New Year’s holidays, the officers of the 10th Head Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan carried out special operations to suppress the extremist and terrorist activities in the southern regions of the country, KyrTAG reports.
“During the operation the officers of the 10th Head Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the territorial divisions of the Department of Internal Affairs and National Security Department of the Osh and Jalal-Abad region revealed 19 crimes, including the ones of the extremist and terrorist character. The operation revealed 17 cases of stoke religious sensitivities on the territory of the Jalal-Abad region”, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs.
During the investigative operations against the extremist religious organizations followers in the village Arstanbap it turned out that many of its inhabitants “started to support and share the extremist organizations ideas with whole families and neighborhoods”.
A large quantity of materials of religious and extremist character - DVD-disks, books, pamphlets and videotapes , as well as hunting knives, ammunition, gunpowder, AKMS submachine gun with a silencer pistol and revolvers - has been found and seized.
The ministry noted that all the materials of operation are being under investigation now. All the operations were carried out due to judicial decisions with active involvement of the public and representatives of the local government, while such operations by the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues further.
