Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will create joint regional air defense forces with Russia

Almaty. April 7. Silkroadnews - Russia will create joint regional air defense systems with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, the newspaper “Izvestia” informs.

“The draft agreements on the establishment of the joint regional air defense system of the Russian Federation with the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as between Russia and Tajikistan have been developed and are at the stage of approval,” said the Chief of the General Staff - First Deputy Commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces of Russia Pavel Kurachenko.  

He reminded that a similar agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan was signed in 2013.

The work is currently underway on the coordination of the list of the bodies of military administration, command and control centers, forces, formations and military units assigned to the joint regional air defense system.

The joint air defense system of the CIS member states was established on February 10, 1995. It unites the air defense forces of the organization member states to jointly address the problems in the interests of all the participating countries.
