Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan plan to renew summer tourist train operation

Almaty. January 24. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan agree to renew operation of the tourist train on Tashkent-Issyk-Kul-Tashkent route, KyrTAG writes.

“Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discuss the possibility to renew the tourist train running Tashkent-Issyk-Kul-Tashkent route popular among the Uzbek citizens in the coming summer season. At present the railway administrations of two states work over the train schedule”, Minister of Transport and Roads Zhamshitbek Kalilov said on Tuesday.

The train is planned to leave for the Issyk-Kul once a week. The start date, as well as the issue of pricing, is under consideration by the Uzbek side, and the final dates have not yet been approved, minister added.

As “Kyrgyz Temir Zholy” reports, the operation on the tourist route Tashkent-Issyk-Kul-Tashkent was interrupted after the events of 2010 and then resumed in 2015 on the instructions of the Prime Minister Temir Sariyev. In 2016 the route did not work though.
